The Orchestra
A Professional Orchestra for Dialogue and Peace
The Orchestra of the Germany–Jordan Peace Initiative brings together outstanding professional musicians from Germany with selected Jordanian musicians.
The members of the orchestra are professional musicians from renowned German ensembles, including musicians of the Saxon State Orchestra Dresden, the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra and the Dresden State Operetta.
Together, they create a symphonic ensemble that combines the highest artistic standards with the idea of intercultural dialogue.

The orchestra project already looks back on a long-standing history. Since 2015, numerous interfaith peace concerts have been created, reaching more than 20,000 people through over ten events.
These concerts combine musical excellence with the message of peaceful coexistence between people of different cultures and religions.

Music Knows No Borders
The Orchestra’s repertoire connects different musical traditions and cultures. Alongside works from the European classical tradition, it includes Arab and Jewish musical traditions as well as interfaith compositions that make dialogue between people of different backgrounds and faiths tangible through music.
Works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, Johannes Brahms and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy are part of the repertoire, alongside musical encounters with the sounds and traditions of the Middle East.
A special example of this connection is the interpretation of works by Johann Sebastian Bach in Arabic – a bridge between European musical tradition and the cultural diversity of the region.

Previous concerts demonstrate the unique power of this project: music creates encounters, overcomes boundaries and connects people from different cultures, religions and generations.
Thousands of listeners have experienced that music is not only something to be heard, but something to be shared together.
Together on Stage in Jordan
As part of the Germany–Jordan Peace Initiative, the Orchestra will perform three major symphonic concerts in Jordan together with Ensemble Coexist.
Ensemble Coexist will perform as the soloist ensemble, connecting the symphonic sound world of the Orchestra with musical perspectives from different cultures and regions.
The project will be enriched through collaboration with Jordanian musicians and local partner institutions.
Together, they create a musical space for dialogue, trust and peace.
