Building Bridges Through Music

BIRD connects people of different backgrounds, cultures and religions through the universal language of music. We believe that when people make music together, encounters, trust and new perspectives can emerge.

Our Vision

In a time of increasing social tensions, BIRD stands for understanding and peaceful coexistence. Through interreligious and intercultural music projects, we create spaces where people meet each other – regardless of religion, origin or worldview.

Music Connects People – Since 2015

Since 2015, BIRD e.V. has been organizing annual large-scale interreligious peace concerts in Dresden. Musicians from different cultural and religious backgrounds come together with a large orchestra to create programmes that connect people beyond borders.
The concert series “First Human – United in Music” is based on the conviction that music is a universal language: It creates encounters, overcomes prejudices and opens spaces for dialogue and mutual understanding.
